At 1:25am in the early hours of Saturday morning the 26th April 1986 "The world's worst nuclear accident" took place. It has been reported that it was 500 times more potent than the Hiroshima bomb and it proved to be an ecological calamity unprecedented in human history. The people of Belarus, Western Russia and Northern Ukraine were the most affected by the disaster at Chernobyl, but such was the potency of the radiation released from the nuclear reactor that even sheep in Scotland and Wales were found to be affected at the time.

The Charity
The work of "Chernobyl Children Care" (a Christian run Charity) whose workers are all unpaid volunteers, invovles organising for the children and their helpers to come to the Midlands(England) and supporting them whilst they are here. Container loads of essential aid which includs vital medical supplies are also sent over to our representatives in Belarus, who distributes the items around to the most needy.
We have been doing this work since 1992 and have been a registered charity since June 1995 and have worked with Pastor Leonid and his wife Svetlana (who passed away in March 2000 from a Chernobyl related sickness) since then he brings the children over with a team of helpers, and receves all our humanitarian aid and distributes it.
